Leeson Street
Brief
To design and re-decorate a large Victorian townhouse for a young family marrying existing period features with a contemporary feel and using recycled and eco-friendly materials and sustainable energy where possible.
Solution
A new kitchen/utility was designed and fitted, with eco-friendly windows and doors and a specialised polished concrete floor. New bathrooms were fitted throughout and solar panels for water heating installed. The house was re-wired for intelligent lighting and entertainment systems (Bang & Olufsen) with the use of an eco-friendly sound proofing in the music room. The original sash windows were reconditioned and the original floors salvaged.
The complete redecoration included the sanding and varnishing of original floorboards; sourcing and installation of light fixtures and curtains and blinds; sourcing of original Victorian sinks and baths from salvage companies in the UK and replica bathroom accessories from New York; the design of bespoke rugs for sitting room, bedrooms and stairs and the reinstallation of paintings and sculptures.
